Kelly Ann D'Arcy

Youth Services Assistant

In February 2024, I moved to the town of Cedarburg from Florida, and despite the cold winters, I’m thrilled that Wisconsin is now my home. For as long as I can remember, libraries have always been for me magical places of wonder and discovery. When I was a child, libraries were all about access to books, and a week didn’t go by when I didn’t check out a stack of books. It is no surprise that my love of libraries and reading led me to a degree in English, followed by twelve years of teaching English to high school and middle school students in Florida. As an adult, I still love to check out a stack of books, but the library is more than just books. It is a place of community and belonging. I’ve always felt like I am home when I enter a library, but never more so than when I first became a patron at Cedarburg Public Library. When I’m not working a shift as a library aide or volunteering with the Cedarburg Friends of the Library, you’ll find me cross stitching at CPL’s Needle Arts Club on Wednesday afternoons. Outside of the library, I enjoy reading, cross-stitching, hiking, and gardening.
