MR. PAUL SALSINI’s
“HOW TO TURN FAMILY STORIES
INTO HISTORICAL FICTION”

Paul Salsini is a veteran Milwaukee journalist, having been a Reporter,
State Editor, and Staff Development Director at the Milwaukee Journal.
He now teaches writing courses at Marquette University. He was the
Wisconsin correspondent for the New York Times for twenty years, and
his travel essays have appeared in the Times and elsewhere. Paul Salsini
is the author of three historical novels that make up “A Tuscan Trilogy.”
He has received a first place in fiction from the Council for Wisconsin
writers and from the Midwest Independent Publishers Association.

Ozaukee County Community Preparedness Day
is being hosted by the U.S.S. Liberty Memorial
Public Library in Grafton on Saturday, May 5 from
10 am to 12pm. The first 100 families will build
emergency kits and will learn how to develop an
emergency plan. This county-wide event is being
sponsored by many local agencies.

100th Anniversary Celebration a Success

We will continue to celebrate our 100th
year all through 2012, but we couldn’t resist
having a real ‘birthday’ party with invited
guests and refreshments to mark such an
important milestone in the life of Cedarburg’s
very own Public Library. Many thanks to all
who made our wonderful celebration last
Saturday possible. The event was filled with
listening, sharing, & laughter as we emphasized
the importance of libraries and learning.
We heard about Jerry Apps’ new book Garden Wisdom from the author himself, enjoyed
seeing the antique tractors, watched the kids enjoying ‘make and take’ activites in the Children’s
Room, and shared stories of why the Cedarburg Public Library is important to our community.

Facelift: Wisconsin Digital Library (powered by OverDrive)

Exciting news! The Wisconsin Digital Library website has
a new look ! The main page will have a much cleaner
appearance, & the search choices along the left side will
be simpler.

There will also be a brand-new login process:
start typing the name of your library, & the form
continually autofills until the library is listed (the system
name is no longer needed for log in). Click on the library
name; then, fill in your library card # (no spaces) & pin
(last 4 digits of the phone # we have on file for you).

Also, just a reminder that if for some reason you get a new library card, your Wisconsin Digital
Library (OverDrive) requests will not transfer to your new library card number automatically.
Remember to ask about this at the main desk.

Please join us for our 100th Anniversary Celebration Program here at the Cedarburg Public Library on Saturday, April 21st, at 1 pm.

In honor of the occasion, we present Jerry Apps, Wisconsin author, storyteller, and historian. Mr. Apps will be speaking about his new book, “Garden Wisdom: Lessons Learned from 60 Years of Gardening.”

The program will be followed at 2:15 by a reception with Anniversary Cake and punch. Children’s activities will be available in the Children’s Room, and there will be a Tractor Parade around the Library!
